Ashley & Derrick were wed this November in a beautiful ceremony at The Grands at Mulligans in Sartell, MN. As a Minnesota wedding photographer I was so excited to photograph their wedding because of the couple's fun personalities and the gorgeous venue.
Ashley & Derrick got ready for their big day surrounded by their friends and family. Even their sweet flower girls got to be with the ladies getting ready--one of the cutest scenes I've captured.
From their rings to their flowers and outfits, their details were cohesive and elegant. Their burgundy color palette added a pop of color that tied together the whole aesthetic of the day.
A & D's first look took place at the huge fireplace that they would soon be married in front of. A beautiful moment was shared between the two of them as soon as Derrick turned around--one of my favorite moments of every wedding day.
Together, we decided to take some of the couple's portraits outdoors. It was a frigid below-freezing day, but that could not stop us! The lighting was simply perfect and you would never be able to tell that it was so cold out in the photos.
Ashley & Derrick had such a fun bridal party! They all toughed the cold so we could get some photos outdoors, and they even made the bridal party portraits so much fun!
There was hardly an empty seat in the room during the ceremony--their families and friends' love engulfed them as they took this step into marriage. The ceremony was filled with sentiment, and A & D's love and commitment to one another was so evident.
As soon as the ceremony ended, we snuck outside to capture some golden hour images. This was a sweet time for the couple to take in all that just happened--they just got MARRIED!
The patio behind the venue was the perfect place to capture these photos; it overlooked a beautiful pond and tree-spattered field.
A & D's reception was filled with joy, reunion, and laughter. The couple had one of the coolest wedding favors I have ever seen--custom candles! I still have my candle at home and it reminds me of this gorgeous wedding day every time I see it.
At last, it was time for dancing! The couple shared a romantic first dance embellished with a fog machine and lights. The groom and his mother had a fun dance that must have taken lots of practice to perfect! And the bride and her father also shared a sweet dance that I'm sure will be looked back on fondly.
Ashley & Derrick's wedding was simply stunning. It was a perfect day to celebrate their love and commitment to one another. Congrats you two!
