Kelly & Dan were married this summer in a gorgeous wedding ceremony at the picturesque Ivory North venue in Mora, Minnesota. As a MN wedding photographer, I was thrilled to be asked to capture their wedding because of the chemistry between the couple and the beautiful venue.
We started the day with some detail and venue shots. The careful attention to detail was evident in every part of the wedding. From the silver shoes & rings, to the soft blue hues of the dresses, it all blended perfectly with the whites and greens of the venue.
After the ladies were all dressed, Kelly put on her dress and did a first look with her bridesmaids, and it was such a special moment! I will forever love first looks with bridesmaids; there's something so special about having a moment with your girls to take in the magnitude of the day that is about to play out.
Kelly & Dan's first look in the glass building on-site was incredibly intimate and sweet. The way they looked at each other when Dan turned around was straight out of the fairytales. Their soft embrace after even made me tear up a bit.
Soon after the family photos were done, the ceremony began. Every part of the ceremony was thought-out and meaningful. They shared communion and a time of worship, and it was incredibly beautiful to see their faith shine through their marriage from the very start.
Kelly & Dan's wedding party was FUN! The group was constantly making jokes and had such a lighthearted attitude throughout the day. Bridal party portraits were a breeze with this group!
After the bridal party portraits were done, we moved onto couple portraits. There is something so special about doing the couple portraits after the ceremony. It was a perfect time for Kelly & Dan to step away from the crowd and take in everything that just happened--they just got MARRIED!
K&D's reception was just as sweet as their ceremony. Between the fun grand entrance, tearful speeches, mac and cheese bar, and delicious cupcakes, nothing could have been better about this reception!
A key detail to know about Kelly is that she is a dance teacher, so having a choreographed surprise dance by her beloved students after K&D's first dance was practically an obligation! After, the guests joined in dancing to pop songs, line dances, and a few slow dances.
Before the sun set, I stole K&D away to the back deck for a few umbrella photos since it was sprinkling out. As Mary Poppins would say, this wedding day was "practically perfect in every way"!
