Nathaniel and Sophie got married this November in a truly enchanting ceremony held in her home church. The love exchanged between the couple, paired with the love from their family and friends surrounding them warmed the bite of the frosty November day. As a Minnesota wedding photographer, I was so excited to capture these two's wedding because of their radiant personalities and authentic connection.
As I arrived at their church, the quiet anticipation was felt among the bridal party and family of the couple getting ready. Once the two were ready, the first look took place. The pure joy and excitement on the couple's faces brightened the whole room.
The beautiful contrast of the chilly outdoors and the bright, warm love shared between the couple made for a stunning representation of their love. Their tender playfulness came through in such a timeless, heartfelt way (My whole heart sings when I see such genuine love between two people--I probably look ridiculous smiling so giddily behind the camera!)
The ceremony itself was enamoring. As Nathaniel and Sophie exchanged vows, the room was filled with an undeniable sense of solemnity and joy. Their commitment to one another echoed through the auditorium filled with their loved ones. The cherry-on-top was their recessional to "Married Life" from the Pixar movie UP.
The reception was a lively celebration, marked by laughter, heartfelt speeches, and a touch of DIY charm. Sophie and Nathaniel made their way around the room greeting and chatting with all their guests. Sophie's maid of honor handcrafted a quilt for her—a tangible symbol of the warmth and love from the community that surrounded them. The shoe game was a hit with the guests and it was such a perfect peek into their sweet relationship.
As golden hour approached, we headed outside for one last photoshoot with the couple, and we were pleasantly surprised with snow flurries! We happily embraced this little gift from above and captured some gorgeous golden hour photos. To end the wedding day, everyone lined up outside the church for a glowstick-getaway. Nathaniel carried Sophie through the line of their beaming families and off they went to the rest of their bright future!
