Karie Jo and Spencer got engaged earlier this year, and I had the honor to capture their engagement pictures! As a MN photographer, I was so excited to take Karie Jo and Spencer's photos because of their fun-loving personalities as well as the stunning location they chose--the Prairie Bluff Conservation Area in Eden Prairie. I've never been to the Eden Prairie bluffs before, but it's been on my photography bucket list for a long time!
A few days before their session, Karie Jo asked if they could bring her sweet pup, Mia, along for some photos. Of course I said "ABSOLUTELY"! Mia was such a good girl, and she posed for the camera so well (she was the true star of the session!)
After a quick outfit change, we went back up the hill to take some more photos. By this point, Karie Jo and Spencer were confident with the poses and prompts I asked them to do. It was so fun to let them take a little bit of the lead in posing, and their photos showed the fun they had with it! My goal with engagement photography is to authentically capture the love between people, and Karie Jo and Spencer made my job so easy!
Although Mia was only in the photos for the couple's first outfit, she was the best little pup! She calmly sat leashed to our bags and watched her mom and dad smile for the camera. Every once in a while, she'd let us know her opinion of being left out of the photos, so we'd give her a little reassurance with a pat and some praise :)
Overall, the prairie bluffs in Eden Prairie was the perfect place to capture Karie Jo and Spencer's love. This couple is so sweet and I can't wait to capture their wedding next year--it is certainly going to be one for the books! (Oh, and if any of my future couples out there want to bring along their dog to their session, please do!)
